This video is to share that June will be our closing month for Mind Your Own Becoming.
In my 80+ years, I’ve learned that life has bridges to cross with a clear message: move forward. I share this writing on Bridges I wrote long ago.
Bridges
Bridges are timeless, as the streams beneath them.
There will always be another bridge to cross,
for reflection and new creation.
The stream has carried us to the present “current.”
It moves us on to the great unknown.
It knows only its onward quest,
that we remember our soul intention
to make our heart print upon the earth.
There comes a time when we awaken.
To the message of the stream –
“Go forward in Love.”
New bridges will appear.
No need to fear.
As the streams that flow beneath,
move on – new horizons await.
I cannot encompass all the bridges – changes – grief, joys, highs, loves and lows I have experienced. I’ve learned to follow my passion and share my true self without attachment to outcomes.
Four and a half years ago I let go of 50 years of New Thought ministry to step into a new forum as the result of 2020, COVID and Black Lives Matter. It was to acknowledge historical inaccuracies and be aware of the untruths we have inherited. It was also to create compassionate listening for lives previously disregarded due to white supremacy and the beliefs of those with entitlements and others NOT. I named this new endeavor – Mind Your Own Becoming – a weekly public forum for the issues of our times. There is no way to measure what I have gained through these years personally. Thank you to everyone who shared their stories and insights, and to all who participated over the years. Your contributions have enriched my soul.
One key awareness – it’s not about taking on guilt and shame about the past – it’s waking up to the future that we are accountable for generations going forward to see things in new light and compassion, and that we all matter, without exception.
The past months have brought deep, heart-felt reflection on Mind Your Own Becoming after 4 ½ years. We have had more media postings, new videos, and ongoing You Tube recordings of our gatherings, and yet we have not seen a significant increase in participation or income. The board and I are all in agreement – it is time to celebrate 4 ½ years and close the end of June. This is honoring what we have achieved, and it brings me to what has unfolded personally for me regarding a new call of work and purpose.
Last summer we closed The Big Sky Retreat that I had been a part of for 48 years. It began in the Grand Tetons in 1976. Our board and I knew it was time on multi-levels to release it with the Big Sky Resort costs becoming prohibitive. Our final retreat celebrated 48 years of accomplishments and was a resounding success. My grief in releasing it was far deeper than I had anticipated
I knew I still had something to give in the retreat arena. I wanted an intimate setting, and an experience for soul deepening. I decided to establish a new sole-proprietorship called “A Time to Deepen.” Online I found a Retreat Center in Carefree, AZ called – Spirit in the Desert. Though initially dates for 2025 were not available – they became available.
In July, along with a treasured friend, Katie, who was on the closing board of the Big Sky Retreat, travelled to see the Spirit in the Desert Retreat. It was exactly what I envisioned, and the staff was wonderful and excited about our being there.
From conception to those invited as Keynotes, and our music, there was enthusiasm and joy every step of the way. I asked attendees if they would return before the closing, and everyone raised their hands. The next day over ½ registered for next year – dates: March 28 to April 2nd. It was clear there would be a 2026 Retreat!
I am now moving forward to establish a new personal work as “A Time to Deepen” with the theme purpose behind it – to Reimagine, Redefine, and Realign our passions and vision of what we want to authentically be.
As with the Big Sky Retreat, our Mind Your Own Becoming board agreed – it’s time to let it go. The blessings of and value of these past 4.5 years has been immense. The personal stories we have taken into our hearts, college professors and those with world travel experience, and many of my new thought ministers, have enriched what we have brought.
I am inviting all who would love to be a part of our final month to come onboard. See the special Program Update for June with our final Presenter – Rev Christine Renee Monks and our theme will be Authenticity – Identity – Who Am I? It couldn’t be more appropriate as closing theme for Mind Your Own Becoming!
I’ll share more details about my new project, as I am not retiring – but once again re-firing. I will be sending information by the end of June on my new calling through “A Time to Deepen. I am honoring the call of the streams – go forward – new horizons are before me. May they bless and enrich all I touch,
